How the Wishbone changes Mountain exploration

The Wishbone makes silver mining possible. Without it, silver veins are completely invisible underground. With it, you get sound cues and an icon that pulses faster as you approach. This single item is the difference between finding silver in minutes and searching for hours.

• +Equip it while moving slowly near rocky Mountain terrain to detect buried veins.
• +When the pulse quickens, dig down in a grid pattern to expose the full vein.
• +Keep it equipped for the full Mountain run until all planned silver is mined.

What to do with your first silver

Silver unlocks Wolf Cape, which permanently solves Mountain frost damage. Once you have Wolf Cape, Frost Resistance Mead becomes optional. After that, the path splits between weapons and armor depending on your playstyle.

• +Craft Wolf Cape before full silver armor if frost damage is still the blocker.
• +Frostner (blunt damage) is the strongest practical Plains weapon and worth building.
• +Do not overcommit to silver armor if Blackmetal is close — save bars for key upgrades.

Where do I get the Wishbone in Valheim?

Defeat Bonemass in the Swamp. Wishbone is a guaranteed Bonemass drop — you receive it every kill regardless of world seed. Keep it equipped during silver mining runs because it does not detect from inventory.
