Dragon tear Valheim

Moder drop that turns the Mountain win into the Artisan Table unlock.

Field note

When it matters

Use Dragon Tears to build the Artisan Table, then choose the first Plains production blocker: blast furnace, windmill, or spinning wheel.

What Dragon Tears are really for

Dragon Tears are not a consumable and they are not a generic trophy reward. Their practical job is to craft the Artisan Table after Moder, which unlocks the production stations that turn Plains materials into progression.

  • +Use the first Dragon Tears on the Artisan Table before worrying about extra storage or decoration.
  • +Treat the table as the start of Plains production, not the end of the Mountain boss reward.
  • +If you searched this after Moder, your next useful page is the post-Moder route, then the Plains route.

What the Artisan Table changes

The Artisan Table matters because it connects several separate Plains goals. Black metal needs the blast furnace, barley wants a windmill, and flax becomes useful through linen production.

  • +Build production near storage so barley, flax, black metal scrap, coal, and thread do not become hauling chores.
  • +Choose the first station from your blocker: food, armor, or weapon damage.
  • +Do not raid deep Plains villages just because the table is built; scout and portal first.

What do Dragon Tears do in Valheim?

Dragon Tears build the Artisan Table, which unlocks the Blast Furnace, Windmill, and Spinning Wheel. These three stations enable Black Metal processing, Barley-based food, and Linen production — the core Plains progression loop.

Where do Dragon Tears come from in Valheim?

Defeat Moder, the Mountain boss. She drops 10 Dragon Tears per kill. They cannot be obtained any other way. Treat the Moder fight as the gate that opens Plains progression, not just a boss trophy.

How to get it
